Master Sergeant Sandra J
Tiemens
Master Sergeant Sandra J. Tiemens, musical director and flute, hails from Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated cum laude from Lawrence University with the Bachelors of Music degree in Flute Performance and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. She also holds the Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of North Texas. While at North Texas, she was the winner of the 1997 Concerto Competition. She performed for the 2001 and 2003 National Flute Association conventions, and has participated in the Aspen and Texas Music Festivals. Sandra has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and the Fort Collins Symphony. In September of 1997, she enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was stationed with The Air Force Band of Flight, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Sergeant Tiemens has been a member of The United States Air Force Academy Band since December of 2000, and performs with the concert band, marching band, and Rampart Winds.
