Chief Master Sergeant Marcelle

Chief Master Sergeant Marcelle S. M. Hureau, voice, a native of Buena Park, California, holds an Associate of Music Degree from Chapman University in Fullerton, California and a Bachelor of Business Management Degree from Regis University, Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she graduated cum laude. She became an active duty Air Force member on February 17, 1977, as an administration assistant, stationed at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. In 1979 she was asked to audition for the Band of the Golden West, March AFB, California, and upon acceptance cross-trained into the band career field. She served four years at that location and was transferred to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, in 1983. In 1984, Chief Hureau joined The United States Air Force Academy Band as a vocalist with the Falconaires. As a member of the Falconaires she performed for over twelve years as both a soloist and an announcer. She has shared the stage with such jazz and entertainment greats as Diane Schuur, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, and Denis Diblasio. In addition to performing with the Falconaires, Chief Hureau has also performed with the concert band, the A Cappella Singers, and most recently with Wild Blue Country. She currently holds the position of Chief of Logistics for the Academy Band. Chief Hureau is also an active clinician and popular freelance artist in the Denver and Colorado Springs area.
