Master Sergeant Jeffry
F Hatfield
Master Sergeant Jeffry F. Hatfield, trumpet, is a native of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Northrop High School in Ft. Wayne, in 1984, and continued his education at the University of North Texas. He has studied trumpet with John Haynie, retired professor of trumpet at North Texas, Don Jacoby, professional soloist and clinician, Keith Johnson, trumpet professor at North Texas, and Don Thomas, a professional studio player in Dallas, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of North Texas in 1993. Sergeant Hatfield was a member of the Garland/Irving Symphony Orchestra in 1987. His professional credits include performances with Allen Vizzuti, Anacani, and Walt Levinsky. While in college, he served with the 531st Air National Guard Band in Dallas for six years. He entered active duty with the United States Air Force in 1993, and was assigned to the USAF Band of Mid-America at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. His military decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal and the Air Force Reserve Good Conduct Medal. He joined The United States Air Force Academy Band in April 2002 and performs with the concert band, marching band and Galaxy Brass.
