Senior Master Sergeant John
P Gohl
Senior Master Sergeant John P. Gohl, trombone, hails from Moorhead, Minnesota. Before joining the United States Air Force Academy Band in 1987, Sergeant Gohl received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Trombone Performance and Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado, graduating magna cum laude. He has studied trombone with Robert Bailey, Edward Huttlin, Buddy Baker, John Daley, and William Nicholls. He was a member of the Xalapa, Casper, and Cheyenne Symphony Orchestras and performed with the Breckenridge Music Institute Chamber Orchestra and Brass Quintet for four seasons. He has also performed with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and was Instructor of Trombone at Colorado College from 1993-98. SMSgt Gohl serves as Logistics Superintendent and performs in Concert Band, Marching Band, and Stellar Brass.
