Mr. Frederick C Correll
lMr.
Fred Correll, a native of Athens, Michigan, holds a Bachelor
of Music Degree fromthe University of Michigan. Upon graduation,
he entered the Air Force and began a career as a bandsman. Following
assignments in Ohio, the Republic of the Philippines and Georgia,
he became a member of The United States Air Force Academy Band.
In that assignment, he played tuba and sang, and served as the band's
on-stage announcer, first sergeant and administrative manager. Fred
retired in 1993 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after 24
years of service. A Distinguished Graduate of the Senior NCO Academy,
his military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with
one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Air Force Commendation Medal. Following
his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Correll worked at KTLF-FM,
a non-commercial Christian radio station in Colorado Springs. He
assumed his current position as Director of Operations for The United
States Air Force Academy Band in 1996.
